Pottery Studio and Membership Details

The Pottery Studio is located next to the gallery of the Findlay Art League and is available for use by paying Pottery Studio Members. Pottery Studio Members also need to become members of The Findlay Art League.

If you join as a Pottery Member, you will have access to 6 electric wheels, a hand building & glazing table, and basic pottery tools. We have one electric kiln that is fired by teachers and selected experienced members. The kiln is fired when there is enough work to fill it, with class projects taking first priority. Bisque cone 06 and glaze cone 6 are the firing temperatures. Clay and glaze are not provided by the pottery studio.

Pottery Members are able to use the studio when pottery classes are not in session. This studio is meant for hobby potters and small amounts of production. Member storage space is available depending on the number of current members.

A Pottery Studio Committee plans pottery events, workshops, and studio cleaning days. All members are welcome and encouraged to participate.

Pottery Studio Access: Pay by the Month

This fee allows Art League members to use the pottery studio. This is a monthly fee that you sign up for every month. New members will be required to attend an orientation before receiving your access code. Open to those 18 and older.

Kiln Rental

Kiln Rental is available to potters who need to fire their pieces and do not use the Pottery Studio to create their work. The kiln measurements are 23” x 27”. We offer a one time firing for $50.00. You do not need to be a member of the Findlay Art League to rent the kiln. You do need to have submitted the Kiln Rental Agreement and payment before anything is fired. Please read the contract thoroughly as we cannot accommodate all firing types and temperatures nor can we promise a precise firing schedule. This contract must be completed and approved by the Findlay Art League before any pottery is brought in to be fired. Please contact the Findlay Art League if you intend to use the kiln or have any questions about this.
