About

This show takes place every May and it is an all member show. All media is accepted! Nice perk for out member. This is not a juried show so all pieces are accepted and shown.

Judge’s Statement

I was pleased to be invited to participate in this exhibition as the awards juror.  Last year, during my first visit to the Findlay Art Leage I was surprised at the overall high quality of the works displayed, and the general atmosphere that was inviting and professional, but not off-putting. This show was an opportunity for me to look and contemplate deeply what was presented, which I admit, I usually do not do, being surrounded at my job during the year by thousands of pieces of art. Thank you for that.

I was genuinely jealous of each of the artists’ experience in making their work, while also being grateful that they chose to share it with us.

It was a rewarding and difficult job; to decide what to award or not what to award.   I chose to focus on the presence of professionalism in technique, in use of materials, in design, and in presentation. Beyond that, I was looking for a perfect marriage of style, content, and form which would make the viewer experience the world in a completely new way.

Unfortunately, there was not sufficient time and not enough awards to pay proper respect to all that I admired.  In every piece I found something that intrigued me, and yes, really did inspire me, as an artist  and as a person.

Thank you.
