The Jones Building, home to Findlay Art League and second floor artist studios, has a rich and colorful history!

Thanks to grants from the Ohio State Preservation Office, FAL will produce a brochure on The Jones Building and feature tours during the September 9 “Welcome to a New Life” Art Show reception. The building has housed everything from a third-floor night club to banks, media businesses, and local artists.

Members Laura Flickinger and John Rousch took second and third place respectively at the Everybody Art Show, held in July in Lima. The show focused on body positivity and drew more than 200 entries.

Member Angie Craine will offer art lessons for homeschooled students starting in September. Sessions will include grades 7-12, 4-6, and grades 2 and 3. Click here for more information and to register your student.

Ash Mansfield and Kent Tarbox are chairing this year’s Chalk-A-Walk and are currently awaiting a permit from the City to hold the event on Saturday, Sept. 17. Our talented local artists will have the opportunity to showcase their work on downtown sidewalks. The event is open to individuals and teams of up to five people. Watch the website for details!
